Proofreading or copy-editing?

Proofreading is the final check on a document before it is published. It is the last opportunity for mistakes to be found and corrected. By contrast, editing is a more in-depth procedure and is likely to involve more serious changes to the text.

However, the distinction between the two processes can become blurred, especially when someone is unfamiliar with this terminology and unsure of what exactly these services entail. Therefore, before undertaking any project, I will work with you to make sure that the job I do is exactly what you are looking for. Communication is key to the services I offer: I will always take the time to talk you through the different processes and advise on which is the most appropriate for you and your budget. So whether it's proofreading, editing or something in between
– proof-editing? – you will always get the best service.
